Ghosts, spirits and the afterlife are phenomena which are talked about with mystery and wonder. For Carole Bromley, they are day-to-day occurrences. The release of Bromley’s first book, The Living Spirit – One Woman’s Battle Against Ghosts, Spirits and the Afterlife, is timed to coincide with Halloween to allow for what she describes as “a double celebration”, and provides an autobiographical insight into her ability to communicate freely with the deceased. “At the age of six I saw my first ghost, which I thought was normal”, Bromley said at the launch of her book on Friday. “When I was 11 I heard the most haunting voice I’ve ever heard, and it will live with me for the rest of my life. It told me to say goodbye to my sister, because she wouldn’t be coming back."
