If you are in search of ghosts or paranormal activity in the state of California, there's no better place to seek out haunted sites than at a cemetery. In this article, you will encounter destinations in the California region where people have reported seeing a ghost dressed in a long white nightgown in Adelaida and orbs at the Grahm Hill Road Cemetery in Santa Cruz.

Adelaida Cemetery – Adelaida

It is said that a ghost dressed in a long white nightgown appears in the old cemetery every Friday night – between 10pm and 12am. Legend has it that the ghost visits the grave of one of her children that lost their life during a diphtheria epidemic. The woman is believed to have took her own life. In 2001, a paranormal researcher paid a visit to the cemetery and while they did not encounter any ghosts as they took photos of the site, it is thought that an apparition appeared in the film (or negative) beside a large orb.

Ed Levin Park Cemetery – Milpitas

Although this cemetery is no longer open to the public, electronics have been known to shut off on their own and then mysteriously turn on. Flashes of light and odd sounds have been reported at the site. Others have documented rather cold spots in the cemetery. Car problems are also commonplace when visiting the cemetery – even during daytime hours.

Grahm Hill Road Cemetery – Santa Cruz

Located on the left hand side of the road as you are traveling up Grahm Hill, you will find a cemetery known for its paranormal activity. Some people have reported seeing faces and detecting things moving inside the graveyard. If you pull into the driveway situated at the end of the cemetery and shine your headlights, a white figure will supposedly come in your direction. It is highly recommended to move out of the way, as this spirit isn’t known for its friendliness. At the east end of the cemetery, a multitude of orbs have been seen with the naked eye and strange noises usually fill the air. Dark shadows may appear above the headstones, as well as the unexplainable sightings of faces on the stones.

Mountain Cemetery – Sonoma

The tombstones and mausoleums at this cemetery are rather old, and since the site has undergone years of neglect, it offers a rather scary atmosphere. If you listen to the local teens, the cemetery is filled with sprits and is a good place to sight the unexpected. Travel outside of the gates of the cemetery and you'll encounter a woodsy area filled with broken graves in disrepair. Cold spots, strange lights, unpleasant smells, and an eerie feeling have been detected in this abandoned location.
