What's so unlikely is that evolution (planetary as well as life) passed up Venus. Many of my opponents seem to believe there's still life on Mars, frozen and otherwise radiated to death seems not an obstacle to that form of life, even though there's not a single image of anything upon Mars that's remotely as artificial looking as what's existing on Venus.
Somewhere, Richard Hoagland stirs in his coffin... Somewhere there's an honest scientist, a researcher that's still alive and gives a damn. Obviously many folks are so afraid of the dark, afraid of what our NASA/NSA/DoD will do onto them if they should offer to help out.
