Tao, also known as "Dao" is a Chinese philosophic term. It could be translated as "the way". It could be put in relation with many other philosophic idea of many traditions all over the world. The Tao is the fundamental force of the universe. It is present in any object of the universe either they are living or not. It is equivalent to the Orgon (term used by Wilhelm Reich to describe this fundamental force which rules the universe either in the macroscopic point of view and the microscopic one. Tao is the essence of the reality. Thus it is impossible to describe but we can feel it and observe it. It is represented by the symbol drawn at the top right of this article: the tàijítú. It is composed of two color: black (the absence of light) and white(the light in all its states). The black represent the yin or feminine principle while the white represent the yang, the masculine principle. The Tao is the relation between these two opposite and complementary principles. It is the flow of energy. Any object, living or inert have these two principles in them and the Tao is the way these two principle behave. The tàijítú shows us that in Yin there is a little of Yang (the white dot) and reversely. It also shows that the Yin seems to go in the Yin and reversely. These could be argued that it represent love. Male and Female, Yin and Yang love each other. Thus they go inside each other and complement themselves.

The Taoism or "school of the Way" is a Chinese philosophy often considered as religion in which the goal is to attain the Tao. Taoists follow the way (the Tao). Tao here, is the universal one. By knowing the Tao, you are the master of your discipline. It could be martial arts or any other art. Tao is also seen by many as the universal one (god). In Greek philosophy it could be compared to the Logos and to the Dharma in the Vedic philosophy. Tao is the origin of everything: "Tao begets one; One begets two; Two begets three; Three begets the myriad creatures.". Tao represents the life. It is infinitely divisible, first in the two female and male principles, and then in the myriads of different verities and forces we encounter in life. It is like the god Mananan or even the Faed Fia in the Celtic cosmogony.
