We ought to get excited about the possibilities an Earthlike planet holds. Gliese 581c, as it is called, was recently discovered 20.5 light-years away circling a dim, neighboring star in a Goldilocks orbit (where it's not overly hot or cold). Scientists believe it could harbor life.
Because Gliese 581c - which lies in the constellation Libra - is much older than our sun, life there could be more advanced. If humans evolved, civilizations would likely make ours seem primitive, if not pathetic.
