After watching “The day after tomorrow” on opening day, I left the theatre with mixed emotions. On one hand, the movie was realistic and captivating, while on the other hand, many issues were misjudged, and some were “out of play”.
I do believe the Earth will undergo a drastic climate change by the end of the year 2012. And I also believe some of the incidents that transpired in the new movie “The Day After Tomorrow”, will indeed happen as the film depicted.Floods, Ocean Influx, and might very well cause the birth of a new ice age in North America and Parts of Europe.
I read many movie reviews stating that the whole scenario was logically impossible. Many argue that climate change would not happen in 3 days.It would take 100’s of years for such a horrific incident to complete changing the environment.I disagree and I plan to defend my standpoint.
As a RULE of The Earth, “It takes time and progressions to produce something beautiful, But Only Seconds to Destroy Something Beautiful”.Our Earth spins on its axis that is dictated by Earths Weight Proportions, and Earths Magnetic Field. As Our Earth’s Heavy Points (North and South Poles) decrease in mass, the Center Point of our planet will change. When the center point changes, so does the axis.
This should all happen in almost current time. I do not think it will take years to occur.I compare this to a glass of water on a table. You can tip the glass only so far before the glass spills. If you turn your heat off on a freezing winter night, you will be cold in mere hours. If the Gulf Stream discontinued to push warm water to the Northern Hemisphere, The entire heat source will be Cut-Off and our heat will dissipate rather fast.
This is of-course depends on the Gulf Stream. If the Gulf Stream is cut off “Cold Turkey” We will indeed freeze almost overnight.Us humans will be burning huge amounts of fossil fuels to keep warm which will only worsen the situation. But if the Gulf Stream slowly dissipated, the effects would be slower. But I believe this will probably happen quickly if not instantly.
The Oceans cover most of the Earth’s Surface.Every day, the Earth’s currents and flow directions change with the tides. This proves even minor gravitational changes can affect water-flow drastically. One could imagine what disasters can occur with a major worldly change.
All in All, I thing was a good movie worthy of anyone’s time.It can teach a valuable lesson and possibly convince some to restrain from making conditions worse. Either way, with the Earth’s population and current state, I think it is inevitable that such a situation will occur within some people’s current lifetimes.
