There is no telling what you will find when traveling down a dark road when the clock strikes midnight. In this article, you will learn some of the haunted tales attached to a handful of streets and roads in the Maryland region that may send chills up and down your back.

Beach Road – Temple Hills

If you look in all the right places, you will find a steep hill that leads to a small pond – which is covered with a lot of bushes and such. There are two trees in the region that are intertwined with one another and it is said that if you walk underneath them – you will encounter a "funny" feeling – especially in your arms and shoulders. There is a rumor that in the 1960's, some teenagers used to fish in the pond, often climbing on the branches in order to jump into the water. However, one drowned and his friends were unable to save his life. It is believed that two of the teenagers present will still pay a visit to the pond.

Ghost Light Road – Hebron

What a name to have for a road! It is said that before the road was paved – large orbs of light frequented the area and would stand still whenever someone approached. Many people have claimed to see the light, which was nicknamed the "Ghost Light." However, when the roads were paved – the sightings stopped.

Asylum Road – Catonsville

The grounds are home to an abandoned mansion that has been closed to the public for some time. There have been times when people would pay a visit and stop in front. It is reported that odd whispers will fill the air and sometimes an unexplainable tapping is heard that seems to be coming from inside the residence. Some people claim to have seen someone walking about, but when approached – the vision vanishes.

Those who have bought the residence are troubled with the sound of unexplainable footsteps that appear to come from the basement. In the attic, residents believe that objects are moving about.

Main Street - Ellicott City

Head for the Historic District and you will encounter a bar by the name of Judge's Bench. On the third floor, it is said that the ghost of a young woman who committed suicide by hanging haunted the joint. Main Street is also the site of an old firehouse, which is believed haunted by the ghosts of a couple of old firemen. Doors have been known to slam without warning. One of the ghosts has been sighted on the premises and unexplainable footsteps also plague the vicinity.
