The no-frills series Ghost Hunters (today, Space at 9 p.m.) provides a needed shot of common sense to the field of paranormal television. In recent years, the narrow ghost-chasing genre has become overrun with fakirs and fakers, as most obviously personified by British "psychic medium" Derek Acorah of Most Haunted fame. On more than one occasion, viewers of the show have been asked to believe that dear Derek has been personally possessed. Does the spirit world have nothing better to do?
