A pensioner and two other people saw up to 40 lights in a cigar shape in the sky moving down the Garth Mountain at speed for 30 minutes in March 2006. They disappeared then reappeared. More than 16 drivers stopped their cars to look at a UFO above a busy road west of Cardiff on October 14, 2004, at 10pm. A silent object was seen in the sky by a couple in their garden in Barry at 3.20pm on September 5, 2004. The bright, star-like object started coming towards them and looked like a box kite with no fuselage. It flew towards Cardiff Airport at an altitude of around 3,000ft.
