For most, the 4th of July means fireworks, BBQs and a whole lot of red, white and blue. But in Roswell, this weekend has people thinking green—as in little green men. This year marks Roswell’s 14th annual UFO festival, which plans to draw an international crowd. Festival coordinator Renee Roach said Thursday, "We were given the gift of having a unique heritage, and we use that heritage to leverage ourselves with that brand." Along with the annual parade, visitors can expect to see more than just aliens.

A further UFO sighting has been reported in East Devon - the third in a week. The latest phenomenon was spotted over Raymonds Hill, near Axminster. Eye witness David Kenning, of Cunningham Avenue, said: "Myself, my partner and a friend saw several orange lights in the sky, which seemed to be between Axminster and Raymonds Hill looking from Millwey. "At first we thought them to be helicopter lights, but they were jerking about at right angles. They seemed to disappear then re-appear a few moments later in a different part of the sky."<br/>

Is it or isn't it? Look closely at these pictures and video to make up your own mind. But Denna Smith, a writer in the U.S., says she knows what she saw. She believes that the circle she caught on camera floating in the sky above the Kings Dominion theme park in Virginia is a space ship. Officials at the park insisted the ring was simply smoke from the nearby Volcano ride. But Ms Smith was not buying it. The ring is well-formed and is not smoky, she pointed out. 'We were like what is that, we were all stopped and we were astonished.' Ms Smith posted her video on YouTube, where it has received nearly 300,000 hits in one week. American cable news channel CNN also picked up the story.

Ghost hunters are on the trail of spirits that haunt a Corby theatre. Dennis Binks and members of his Northamptonshire Paranormal Investigation Team are hoping to bring the ghosts of the Willows Arts Centre out to play before the old theatre is bulldozed at the end of this month. Four mediums will be roaming the building late at night, along with members of the public who will be hoping to see the spirits said to haunt its corridors and rooms. Corby medium Dennis and his fellow clairvoyants decided to hold the event after hearing the Willows was going to be demolished.<br/>

The Orb Phenomena – Is it or isn’t it paranormal?

There has been a lot of discussion and speculation in recent years on orbs and they mostly seem to go into 2 categories 1 - all orbs are paranormal or 2 - all orbs are just dust. Did anyone consider that there may be a middle ground with this? Let me start with a brief story on why I believe there to be some credence to orbs. I have personally seen some compelling evidence on orbs which makes me not want to dismiss them across the board. As time goes on hopefully others may also see something similar for themselves. The sad part of this is that these are now stories; I saw them while they were being filmed with infrared cameras but they did not record properly. Another person witnessed this phenomenon with me but yet it is just more anecdotal evidence now.

Kinzua Dam, a paranormal hotbed?

With all of the trauma and desecration one is not surprised to find out that there have been paranormal happenings along the Kinzua Dam and Lake Perfidy. But one would be amazed at the cornucopia of high strangeness that has manifest itself along the shores and beneath the waves of this cursed lake. But finding out these nuggets of Fortean happenings is not an easy task. Most of the campers and fishermen who spend their days and nights along the site are not the kind to openly share their incredible stories of the unexplained. But once in a while you get some who are willing to share their stories, and sometimes they are in the strangest places.

UFO UPDATE: Red diamond UFO spotted hovering in sky

A red diamond shaped UFO has been spotted hovering over the skies of North Somercotes by a local woman. The 75 year-old, who asked not to be named, had the strange encounter back in early February but is only now coming forward with her sighting after reading our report on the Lincolnshire Triangle UFO mystery. She said: "I was in the car with my husband on the road to North Somercotes at around 5pm and we stopped in the road to wait for the car in front to manoeuvre round a lorry. While we were sitting there I glanced out my window to the left and saw this strange red object in the sky and thought 'what the devil is that?'"

True-life tales of ghosts, hauntings and the paranormal, including a chapter on how to find and catch your own, can be found in a new book by author Philip Solomon. Haunted Black Country is a collection of chilling tales that are reported to have taken place in back-alleys, pubs, churches, cemeteries and even telephone boxes across the region, claimed by many to be the most haunted in the world. Philip Solomon, a writer and paranormal expert from Willenhall, said: “Almost all of the stories have been personally investigated by me or my team of professional researchers - and many have remained untold until this book was written.”

If you've ever felt a sudden chill when visiting Malabar Farm, Sybil Burksey wouldn't be surprised. The administrative director at the state park said this summer marks the fourth year for Night Haunts, a four-hour tour she calls "from normal to paranormal." "A lot of us have had a lot of experiences in that house, so we decided to open it up to for these tours," said Burksey, referring to country estate mansion of Louis Bromfield, a Pulitzer Prize-winning author and founder of Malabar Farm. Burksey said the Central Ohio Paranormal Society conducted an investigation on the property in 2005 and deemed the house haunted.

While a thunderstorm blew through Fort Scott on Saturday night, an investigation of the ghostly kind was underway at the Fort Scott Scottish Rite Temple. About 9 p.m. Saturday, members of the Wichita Paranormal Research Society began investigating the Scottish Rite Temple in order to determine whether or not there is paranormal activity occurring at the Temple. According to Scottish Rite Temple Executive Secretary Terry Claar, when he was contacted by Nancy Wimmer from the Fort Scott Chamber of Commerce about allowing a paranormal investigation to be conducted at the Scottish Rite Temple, he was excited to allow the researchers access to the temple.

Paranormal Team Investigating Ghost Reports At Four State Landmarks

It's hard to stump the staffers at Connecticut's historical landmarks — they're pretty well versed on their buildings' one-time occupants. But there's one common question for which they have no adequate answer: Is this place haunted? Very old buildings commonly come with lore about spooky happenings, but rarely does anyone really explore these tales. To that end, officials with Connecticut Landmarks have tapped the East Haven-based Connecticut Paranormal Research Investigators (CT-PRI, for short) to get to the bottom of things. Since May, the group has been schlepping its equipment — infrared cameras, temperature gauges, audio recorders, holy water — to four of the 12 properties maintained by Connecticut Landmarks. They concluded their on-site work last week, at Hartford's oldest building, the Butler-McCook House on Main Street. After reviewing the evidence, they'll put together their findings.

Members of the Paranormal and Historical Anomaly Society of Lodi have been meeting at New World Pizza to discuss UFOs, ghosts and other out-of-this-world phenomena. "There's a lot of interesting things that happen everywhere and right here in our own back yard," said Tom Presler, a founding member of the group. Presler said the group's mission is to generate conversation. One woman recalled how in 1950 she and husband were out fishing when they saw an unusual red flying object.

Expect the government to remove the lid soon on a secret it has held religiously more than half a century: Unidentified Flying Objects are real and come from outer space, says a West Virginia author on the verge of releasing his second book on the subject. Kyle Lovern figures United States authorities have covered up the existence of UFOs since the celebrated 1947 incident in Roswell, N.M., out of fear they couldn’t control global unrest and fear. “They thought the public would panic,” says Lovern, whose latest book is a sequel to his first effort, “Appalachian Case Study: UFO Sightings, Alien Encounters.”<br/>
