Haunted Places in Asia I

Just like every place around the world, Asia has their own collection of haunted history and ghost tales. In this article, you will explore some of the paranormal activity reported in China, Hong Kong, Vietnam, and Korea.

Yun Shan Fan Dian , Chengde, China

It is said that this hotel has a haunted history with the presence of a variety of ghosts. Some of the spirits described on the premises include a man dressed in western clothing, woman wearing what seems like the wardrobe of an ancient empress. Sightings are said to take place at the end of the story 8 corridor, which overlooks the balcony. Other ghosts have been reported , dressed in older Chinese suits.

Tuen Mun Road , Hong Kong

The Tuen Mun Road possesses its own haunted tale with hundreds of reported sightings of ghosts. It is said that the many deaths that have occurred because of car accidents on the expressway are linked to the ghosts thought to haunt the area. Since 1978, some people believe the high death toll is related to ghosts suddenly appearing in the middle of the road. The apparitions startle the drivers, who in turn, end up crashing their vehicles. It is said that the ghosts of past victims only add to the problem , appearing at night.

The Former Residence of Ho Chi Minh , Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam

Rumor has it that the ghosts of people who were wrongfully killed during the Khmer Rouge battles and the Vietnam War haunt Ho Chi Minh’s former residence. Their sudden death has left some souls restless and negative towards the living.

Lipe Island , Thailand

Situated in the Andaman Sea, Lipe Island is the home of an ethnic group nicknamed the “Gypsies of the Sea.” The Chao-Le still possess some of the beliefs that their ancestors upheld, including a belief in unruly spirits referred to as “ha-too.” Some tourists have admitted to feeling as if an invisible force was in their presence. It is said that residents use items, such as cupcakes, to appease the spirits.

Tao Dan Public Park , Saigon, Vietnam

Reports have surfaced about a floating vision of a young man that looks as if they are trying to locate someone after dark in the park. Years ago, a man and his girlfriend were attacked in the park while they were alone with one another. The woman was repeatedly raped and the young man died as a result of the attack. Some say that the man sometimes returns to the park , in search of his girlfriend that he wishes to rescue.

Inchon , Korea

During the Korean War, Inchon served as one of the many places of battle. Numerous soldiers from North and South Korea lost their lives at Inchon. In certain places in Inchon, people claim to have heard the sounds of agonizing screams, curse words, explosions, and gunfire. Some have brought along a tape recorder to capture the strange sounds of this haunted site.
