From the Sacramento Theater Company to the California Theater in San Bernardino, former patrons and actors have a knack for setting up shop in a building with a flair for dramatics. In this article, you will learn about the specter with a pink glow and a Montebello movie theater with a handful of supposedly haunted rooms.
Sacramento Theater Company – Sacramento
In Sacramento, the Sacramento Theater Company has a reputation for being one of the most haunted buildings in the city. With reports of at least five ghosts, the most well known of specters is nicknamed, ‘Pinky.’ Thought to have been a former stagehand, Pinky was given the name because of her aura that glows pink when she makes an appearance. After hours, unexplainable footsteps have been heard. The sight of a ghostly man walking in the hallways has been documented. Lights have a habit of flickering on and off. All of the above occurrences have placed it in favor for paranormal investigation.
California Theater – San Bernardino
It is believed that a presence haunts the California Theater, where reports suggest you may detect movement by relying on your peripheral vision.
Melodrama Musical Theatre , Bakersfield
Situated on the most northern point of the city (in a region called Oildale), the Bakersfield community has a building with a variety of ghosts and paranormal activity to speak of. With a history that traces back to the early 1970s, the theater building once served as a toy store. However, the owner of the store went bankrupt in 1975 and after trying in vain to keep his business from going under , lost everything he owned in the process. Some believe that the former owner may haunt the premises, as some people believe they have felt his presence, especially when on the stairwell. The theater that stands now is haunted by an apparition that sometimes makes an appearance on the stage during performances. He is also blamed for the unexplainable breaking of mirrors. Odd shadows are also reported at the theater.
AMC Montebello 10 Theatres , Montebello
Succumbing to a fatal stab wound, the spirit believed to haunt the theater died when the building first opened. The majority of paranormal activity that takes place on the premises is found in theaters 8 and 9. Usually, Theater 9 is uncharacteristically colder than other spaces in the complex , even when the heaters are turned on. Above this theater, you will find the projection booth upstairs, which has a reputation of lights that turn on and off on their own. Others claim that the shadow of an odd figure can be seen against the wall in Theater 6 when a movie is playing.
Riverside Municipal Auditorium , Riverside
During a production of ‘The Nutcracker’ at the Riverside Municipal Auditorium, an old man who had always wanted to see the play attended the show and died of natural causes. Many people have reported seeing his ghost on different occasions.
Performing Arts Center , Oxnard
No matter how much people try, the doors to the dressing room theater will not stayed closed in the middle of the night, and the lights also have a mind of their own after dark. Others have reported feeling an eerie coldness and unexplainable chitchat taking place in the green room.
