Ever since ancient times, birds have been viewed as messengers of the gods – serving as signs for people looking (and not looking) for answers in life. The spiritual meanings of birds depend on the species, appearance, habits, activity, and other characteristics of a sighting. The number of birds means something just as much as the unusual circumstances in which they appear. In this article, you will learn some of the signs associated with birds that you can use in your life.
Birds were omens to people living in ancient Greek and Roman times. They used the creatures as a form of divination. You're probably thinking that it is nearly impossible to get answers or signs from a bird because they are everywhere and you encounter them on a daily basis. However, when a particular species is in an uncommon area or is acting in an unusual manner, this could be taken as a sign to consider.
A Bird's Action
The actions of birds can also be taken into consideration. To some, their behavior offers specific meanings. When birds fly from right to left, it can be interpreted as a good sign that you will be able to achieve your goals without any difficulties. Birds that fly left to right sometimes signify an impending delay or obstacle in your life. You may want to rethink the things that are going on in your life. A bird flying straight towards you means that improvements in your life will come quickly. A quick, high-flying bird (or one that is flying straight up) translates into great success that you will soon encounter.
When a bird quickly flies away from you, take it as a warning to approach your plans with caution and delay making any important decisions until your mind is settled. A bird that flies horizontally, you may reach your goal but you should prepare yourself for the possibility of rough times. When a bird lands and takes off several times (or is flying erratically), you may want to check your life for any hidden problems. Some people believe that when a bird is flying against the wind, it is a sign that you may have a friend in your life that doesn’t entirely have your best interest at heart.
Color of Birds
The different kinds of birds that you see are associated with various meanings. The many colors of the feathered world also play an important role. When you can't identify the bird you've come in contact with, use their colors as an indicator. Red is seen as a sign of good luck. Orange birds symbolize excitement and bliss. Yellow birds mean you should keep your guard up. Green-colored birds mean that adventure is in your future. Bluebirds are linked to joy and love. White colors signify happiness and joy, and are seen as a good omen.
Peace and contentment is associated with gray colors. Brown birds are linked to healing and good health. Birds that are black and white in color means that trouble will be avoided. Birds with brown and white colors symbolize a happy home. Black birds are indicators of danger or should keep you on alert to look out for dangers that are unseen.
