When using essential oils during a meditation session, you can take advantage of active ingredients derived from a plant that possess a high level of concentration. This is the most potent form that you can receive and the benefits are wide ranging. In this article, you will learn how to use essential oils during meditation for when you are in the comforts of your room.

Are you finding it hard to wind down at the end of the day? Sometimes, a good round of meditative contemplation can help you prepare for a sound night of sleep. You can perfume your pillow using 2 to 3 drops of oil. For this approach, it is important to choose an oil that possesses relaxing properties, especially if you are one who suffers from insomnia or any other problems falling asleep. Perhaps, you don’t want to unwind with a bit of sleep and would rather let loose with little physical attention from a loved one. Inspire a different mood by using an essential oil with aphrodisiac properties, such as ylang ylang, rose, or jasmine.

Room Sprays

Set the mood for a journey into meditation by preparing your room with invigorating scents. You can create your own room spray by combining 10 drops of essential oil and seven tablespoons of water. When you add one tablespoon of vodka or pure alcohol to your mixture, you will produce preservative properties in your blend. Before filling a sprayer, make sure to mix all of the ingredients well.

If you have been dabbling in aromatherapy, you may already have a favorite scent that you like to use when mediating. Use this scent or choose a new one that tickles your fancy for this method. Fill a humidifier with water and add your favorite essential oil.  If you do not own a humidifier, don’t worry. You can fill a small bowl of water with five drops of your essential oil and place on top of a radiator.

Ring Burners

Did you know that there is a product that you place over the top of a light bulb that you can use to fill your bedroom with the intriguing scents of essential oils? You then use the heat from the light bulbs to release a perfumed scent into the air. Small ring burners are usually constructed of porcelain or aluminum. When you add a couple of drops of essential oil onto the ring burner, wait for the heat of the bulb to swell, which will gently send a scent into the air.

Therapeutic Massage

Behind closed doors, a lot of sensual massages take place, but there with the help of essential oils – you can benefit from the massages that come with therapeutic intentions. The body's natural healing process is actually triggered when certain essential oils are used on the skin. Essential oils have the power to stimulate the flow of blood and lymph fluid throughout the body. When creating a massage oil, plan on using 1 to 3 % solution of essential to your base oil.
