When you're looking for a party to attend or a family-friendly event for the Halloween season in the San Francisco region, consider the following suggestions, which highlight events at locations, like the Randall Museum and Bay Area Discovery Museum. Halloween Day events include:

The Creature – San Francisco

If you're interested in attending the theater on Halloween day, the Black Box Theater is offering their take on Mary Shelley's iconic monster with a plot that includes hints of horror and love all at the same time. This production takes place through November 7, so if you don’t catch it on the day that old souls come out to play, there are other chances. For more details, check out www.thickhouse.org . Address: Thick House, 1695 18th Street

Exploratorium Creature Features – San Francisco

When you're looking for a good scare, the Exploratorium is one of the best places to be on Halloween and it's safe for the kiddies to enjoy. The exhibits and events to look forward to include a haunted house on wheels that measures three stories called the Neverwas Haul. You will also encounter the Cemetery of Dead Science, a creepy graveyard, and a variety of displays, such as giant insects and monster machines. This event takes place between 3pm and 8pm. For more information, check out www.exploratorium.edu. Address: 3601 Lyon Street

Family Halloween Day – San Francisco

Slip into your scariest costume for a day filled with scary games and craft making. From 10am to 2pm, the Randall Museum offers the ultimate in Halloween family fun. For more details, check out www.randallmuseum.org. Address: 199 Museum Way

Ghostly Opera – Fremont

Did you ever think you'd spend your Halloween with a bunch of opera singers? Thanks to the Fremont Opera, monsters come to life with tales of the supernatural delivered by powerful voices. This event starts at 4pm at the Mission Coffee Roasting Co. Address: 151 Washington Blvd

The Time Outs – Sausalito

Kids and music go together well and if you want to keep them entertained before it's time to go trick-or-treating, consider the staged macabre dance party that features old-fashioned rock 'n' roll and centric pop that appeals to the younger crowd. Here, you will find both kids and adults wearing costumes and everyone is encouraged to sing along, dance, and reenact silly monster moves. This event takes place at the Discovery Museum in Fort Baker and starts at 11am. More details can be found at www.baykidsmuseum.org.

Other events taking place in the San Francisco region for Halloween includes the:

·    Jack O' Lantern Jamboree - 699 Bellevue Ave in Oakland with Monster Mash Parade at 1:30pm and 4:30pm

·    San Francisco Ghost Hunt - Queen Anne Hotel, 1590 Sutter St (7pm)

·    San Francisco Halloween Festival - AT&T Park (4pm to 11:30pm) with haunted house and drag queen contest.
