Stenographer Removed from House Floor After Rant About Freemasons and Mocking God

Perhaps it was the mounting tension associated with the recent government shutdown, but for some reason, something set off a stenographer this past week that led to her rant that involved God and talk of the Freemasons. A spokesman for the Capitol Police reported that the woman was interviewed, and then taken to a local hospital to be evaluated. The outburst simply calls attention to the views of some who are frustrated with and believe that certain influential secret societies are pulling the strings of the government. For some, the stenographer highlighted a few things that others are often afraid to say.

Just as lawmakers geared up for a vote on a deal regarding a shutdown bill that would reopen the government and avoid a debt crisis on Wednesday night, a House stenographer had to be escorted from the premises. The woman, identified as Dianne Reidy, began shouting a religiously motivated rant into a microphone about God, a divided government, and the Freemasons. With microphone in hand, she could be heard saying," The greatest deception here is this is not one nation under God, it never was."

"This is not one nation under God, it never was. Had it been, it would not have been. No. It would not have been. The Constitution would not have been written by Freemasons, they go against God."

In an effort to restore order in the room, Rep. Ileana Ros Lehtinen (R-Fla.), who was in the chair, took to the gavel as staff removed the woman from the House floor. The stenographer's outburst started on the House floor, and continued as she was being escorted out. The entire incident left House aides baffled and visibly shaken. As staff and the woman waited for an elevator to come, she continued to rant despite attempts to quiet her.

C-SPAN released an official transcript of Reidy's rant (per their recording), who has been identified as the official stenographer of the U.S. House of Representatives. She said:

He will not be mocked
He will not be mocked
The greatest deception here is this is not one nation under God
It never was
Had it been, it would not have been
No, it would not have been
The constitution would not have been written by freemasons
They go against God
You cannot serve two masters
You cannot serve two masters
Praise be to God, lord Jesus Christ

The scene on the House floor was chaotic, leading some to describe her departure as being 'dragged out.' Those with access to social media took to their Twitter accounts to spread the word of the outburst, which included the following Tweets:

•    "Protester dragged off House floor. Apparently one of the stenographers from the dais" [Chad Pergram]
•    "Stenographer removed shouting about God not being mocked and the free masons" [Ben Jacobs]
•    "An official house court stenographer took to the microphone & was screaming ab God. She was saying in the hall you can't serve two masters" [Jake Sherman]
•    "Stenographer seemed 2 b shouting + delusional on floor. "This is not a House divided." Escorted from floor during vote" [Alan Ota]
