For starters, Clara Thompson Hall is home to a ghost that does not exactly have a history to speak of. It is this unknown spirit that is blamed for the pianos that play on their own, as well as doors that shut without any help. The soccer field situated off of Bennett Street was constructed on top of scared Native American ground, which beings about numerous reports of unknown presence in the area.
The university also presents the tale of Smith Hall, where the location once served as home to a host of Victorian homes. One of the houses was home to a small girl, who died in a fire. Sometimes, their drawers look out of place, and they find a curious addition to their room , a teddy bear might be sitting in the middle of the room. It is said that this stuffed bear is a sign that the little girl is still looking for her teddy. Some students claim they have seen her ghost wandering about the hall. Drury University is also the site of a haunted performing arts venue by the name of Wilhoit Theatre. At night, strange lights are known to flicker on and off. Some witnesses claim they have come in contact with a ghost that is known only as “Bob.” Upon researching the origin of the theatre, the space is oddly dedicated to a man by the name of Bob Wilhoit”¦is this a coincidence?
St. Louis, Missouri presents two haunted universities that one may find interest in visiting. The first is called the University of Missouri where you will find Seton Hall. When odd hours of the day arise, unexplainable footsteps are heard running down the hall located on the third floor. Some witnesses claim that doors are knocked on and when they attempt to investigate, whoever was the culprit of the noise cannot be found.
Seton Hall was built upon a hospital that served as a home for nuns, which might have something to do with the odd events to take place on the premises. Tunnels exist on the premises, which connect the building to other sites about the campus. The tunnels are blocked off, but some students claim entities have caused them to wake up in mid-air.
Webster University in St. Louis offers the Loretto Hilton Theater, which is said haunted by a tech assistant, who lost his life on the premises. Legend has it that the ghost once saved the life of another who was leaning too far over the edge of the catwalk. As the man began to fall, he claimed that he felt someone pull him back, but there was no one that he could see.
