Over the past couple of years, most of the news centered on ritualistic Satanic killings have come out of international locations outside of the United States. However, a community in Houston, Texas, is reeling from the aftermath of a sadistic murder committed by a 17 year old and 16 year old teenager. In what was clearly a Satanic ritual murder, it was the hopes of one of the perpetrators that he would have been able to sell his soul to the Devil if done successfully.
Not only are two teenaged boys charged with the ritual murder of a 15-year-old girl, but their list of charges also includes sexual assault. Jose E Reyes, 17, and a 16-year-old boy, who cannot be identified because of his age, are accused of killing Corriann Cervantes.
Reyes is believed to have convinced a friend to help lure and murder Cervantes, as the two had previously discussed how the older teen had ‘sold his soul to the Devil.’ Reyes supposedly told the younger teen that if they killed the girl, then he too would be able to sell his soul to the Devil. Court proceedings revealed that the 16 year old knew Cervantes because they both went to the same alternative school in the Clear Creek ISD.
Reports state that the teens coaxed Cervantes into an empty apartment on February 5, where they proceeded to rape the victim, and then used an ashtray and the lid of a toilet tank to repeatedly beat the girl until she died. The teens are also accused of disfiguring Cervantes’ body by carving an upside down crucifix on her stomach. In addition to finding evidence that Cervantes was part of a ritualistic murder, other Satanic items were later found at one of the boy’s family residence.
After disappearing days earlier, the partially clothed body of Cervantes was discovered in a vacant apartment at the Bay Apartments, located on the 16400 block of El Camino Real. Upon the discovery of her body, it was noted by authorities that “religious cult items” were also found at the crime scene.
Reyes has been charged with capital murder, and if found guilty, he could receive a life sentence in prison with the eligibility of parole. The 16 year old was also given the same charge of capital murder, and it remains unknown whether he will be tried as an adult.
Reyes was arrested soon after the discovery of Cervantes’ body, and made a brief court appearance a couple of days later. Photos of the teen show him smiling in public, and showing no remorse for his actions. He actually looks confident and boastful…as if this was his ‘time to shine.’ It’s a sickening display of someone who has no regard for human life. It also further highlights the evil influence and consequences that Satanism, Devil worship, and some of the current social culture has on today’s youths.
