The scary wave of Satanic-related murders committed by youths in South Africa continues to hit national headlines. Many of the sad tales of initiation rituals, human sacrifices, and other acts related to Satanic cults have involved the death of females, but in the most recent case that now comes out of Ravensmead, South Africa, the unfortunate victim this time was a 15-year-old boy named Lee Heinrich Adams. A 17-year-old has been arrested for allegedly beheading the youth in what authorities believe is a crime related to Satanism.
Ravensmead is home to a rather small population, and is located in the province of Western Cape, South Africa. It is here that the head of a teenaged boy was found buried in the front garden of his suspected murderer’s home on Saturday night. The rest of Adams’ body was discovered lying in a corner of a blood-splattered classroom belonging to the dilapidated Florida Primary School building, which is about 120 meters away from Adams’ aunt’s residence, where he lived. His body had been found on Thursday night.
Police suspect that Adams was killed as part of a Satanic ritual, as paraphernalia related to Satanism was discovered at the home of the suspect. To further support the theory that Satanism played a role in the death of the boy, eyewitnesses claim that two headless cats had been removed from the crime scene. However, police have not confirmed this part of the account just yet.
Adams’ mother recalled the last time she saw her son alive on Thursday was when she sent him to withdraw money from an ATM. She said that he never returned. The next day, the neighborhood spoke of the discovery of a body of a boy identified as someone who lived on the same street as she. After going to the police to report the disappearance of her son, she learned that the headless body found at the school belonged to her son – dressed in the same clothes that she had last seen him wearing.
A spokeswoman from the Community Police Forum stated that an incident like this has never happened before nor any acts of a Satanic nature had never taken place in their area. The Cosatu regional secretary visited the Adams family, and later stated that children are losing track of their social values, but did not specify whether he felt if the crime was of a Satanic or dysfunctional nature.
The Adams murder joins the recent Satanic-related killings involving teens to come out of the South African region. In October 2011, two friends were assaulted and set afire in an alleged Satanic ritual that took the life of 18-year-old Kirsty Theologo. A Bible, candles, and a knife were used in this particular ritual case, which also saw the victims being given an alcoholic drink laced with brake fluid. A 15-year-old girl was also brought to trial for the stabbing death of her friend Keamogetswe Sefularo, who believed the act would help her move up the ranks of a satanic cult.
