There have been many interpretations of the Bram Stoker tale of Dracula, but one of the most memorable is probably the star-studded cast of the 1992 version. Bram Stoker’s Dracula (1992)

When Francis Ford Coppola got a hold of the Bram Stoker story, he turned it into a classic film that offers the acting of Winona Ryder (the Count’s love interest Mina), Keanu Reeves (Mina’s fiancé), Sir Anthony Hopkins (vampire hunter Van Helsing) and Gary Oldman (Count Dracula). The drama that unfolds along with the elaborate costumes has become a favorite. This film tale of Dracula won three Oscars.

Interview with a Vampire (1994)

Combine the good looks and charm of Brad Pitt and Tom Cruise in a movie adaptation of the Anne Rice bestseller of the same name, and Interview with a Vampire is a popular bloodsucker film that doesn’t echo the creepiness or gore of previous vampire films. The plot centers on plantation owner Louis, who has lost his wife and infant during childbirth. It has been one year since the tragedy and he no longer wishes to live. However, he meets a vampire named Lestat who shows an interest in him and offers him a chance to become a vampire. Louis accepts the offer and Lestat drains Louis’ mortal blood and replaces it with his own vampire blood. In turn, Louis transforms into a vampire, and then needs to learn how to go on living as a vampire. Another highlight of the film is a young Kirsten Dunst showing a taste for blood

Cronos (1993)

Guillermo del Toro directed this 1993 film that truly jumpstarted his movie making career. In Cronos, a different take on horror is revealed where you actually feel sympatric towards the plight of the creatures. An aging antique dealer named Jesus Gris is at the center of the storyline. He is a vampire-like character that fits into a plot involving the discovery of a mechanized scarab. When it is opened, it will painfully stab the person that is holding it. However, the wound brings youthful vigor but it comes with a price. The holder also feels a thirst for blood , like a vampire. Another part of the plot includes a dying tycoon wishes to possess the device and sends his nephew to retrieve it. You will also see Ron Perlman star in this film , known for his role in Hellboy.

Blade (1998)

Who can forget the storyline of Blade (played by Wesley Snipes), who takes on the character of a Marvel Comics superhero who is part human and part vampire. Known as a ‘Day Walker,’ Blade has devoted his life to ridding the world of vampires. The action-packed film set the path for other sequels to follow, including Blade II, which was directed by Guillermo del Toro and Blade Trinity.
