Whether you’re a fan of vampires or elaborate haunted houses, New York City certainly has plenty of activities and events for you to celebrate Halloween in style. In this article, you will encounter local get-togethers, including the Bloody Manor Haunted House and a haunted house at the Vortex Theater.
Bloody Manor Haunted House , October 27 to 31 and November 6 and 7
Visit a terrifying event that stretches 5,000 square feet by enjoying the Bloody Manor Haunted House located on 542 West 27th Street (between 10th and 11th Avenues) Come explore the bloodcurdling labyrinth that weaves you in and out of 20 themed rooms of horror. Some of the newer features for this year include Disgraceland, the Zombie Cabaret, and Blood Night Asylum. Since this is meant to create an intense and overly spooky experience, it’s not suggested to bring along any kids under the age of 14. Purchase tickets online so you don’t have to waste any time waiting in line.

The new location of this event brings you downtown at the NOHO Event Center (623 Broadway at Houston Street), where you should enter on Mercer Street. With the purchase of just one ticket, you are granted access to two frightening experiences. The event is set in the first vampire museum in the world, where some of the exhibits literally come to life. With Nightmare 666, enjoy a black magic show that is sure to send shivers down your back. Keep in mind that children under 12 will not be admitted without the presence of an adult. Kids under 7 are not admitted at all. This event takes place between 6pm and 11pm.
Advance purchase on the Internet costs $30, where getting your tickets at the door will cost $35. If you simply cannot stand waiting in line, a VIP Line Busting ticket offers express entry for $60.
Haunted House , October 26 to 31
At the Vortex Theater (164 Eleventh Avenue between 22nd and 23rd Streets), enjoy a less expensive way to get scared for the Halloween season. Do not pay a visit to this adults-only haunted house if you don’t like being touched or scared out of your mind. The experience is meant to bring intense emotions and fear. There are a few ground rules: no one under 18 will be admitted and everyone must walk through the haunted house by himself or herself. Hours for this event are 7pm to 11pm on Tuesday to Friday; and 5pm to 11pm on Halloween. Cost: $12 online tickets for general admission, $14 tickets bought at the door; and $20 VIP (skip the line and enter upon arrival).
