Halloween Spooktacular , October 24
Gather at the Braintree High School Track in Braintree, Massachusetts to enjoy a family event courtesy of the Braintree Integrated Preschool. The Halloween Spooktacular is a great outing to take younger kids. Alongside an entertaining costume parade, take part in a pumpkin decorating contest, Halloween treasure hunt, scream contest, bake sale, raffles, prizes, and other delights.
If you are interested in participating in the pumpkin-decorating contest, bring a carved or decorated pumpkin to the football field by 2pm. Keep in mind that prizes will be given out to the most creative pumpkin, as well as the scariest, funniest, and prettiest. A Best in Show award is also part of the festivities. This event will take place between 1pm and 4pm. Cost: $5 per person or $15 per family.
Boston Ghost Cruise , October 24
Head for Long Wharf at 7pm to enjoy a popular outing for Halloween-goers , the Mystery Cafe and Boston Harbor Cruises. This is your chance to experience sailing over the waters of the Boston Harbor, where pirates, patriots, smugglers, and other curiosities of the past inhabited the seas. Castle Island Children’s Magical Halloween Castle , October 24 and 25
In South Boston, many people pay a visit to Castle Island’s Fort Independence, where younger children can find a less scary way to enjoy the holiday. This event will take place between 12pm and 4 pm.
Barrett’s Haunted Mansion , October 24 and 25

Halloween Town , October 24 and 25
For $14 to $19, you will get a chance to enjoy one of the largest Halloween celebrations in Boston , taking place at the Seaport World Trade Center for the fifth year in a row. This fun-filled event offers family-friendly entertainment including jugglers, dancers, and musicians. At the party, Grammy-award winning musical guests Dan Zanes and Friends will perform more than one concert throughout the weekend.
Halloween Storytime , October 28
The Amesbury Public Library in Amesbury will offer a special Halloween-themed story time at 6pm for the entire family, where sing-a-long songs and scary stories aren’t the only thing to look forward to.
