From checking out local haunted houses to listening to frightening ghost stories, Los Angeles is known for playing host to an entertaining assortment of Halloween activities and events. In this article, you will learn details regarding the Fright Fair ScreamPark & Harvest Festival; House at Haunted Hill; and spooky mines.

Fright Fair ScreamPark & Harvest Festival , October 27 to November 1

At Pierce College, come enjoy four horrifying delights in one event. This is your chance to explore the nooks and crannies of the Haunted Trail. Come prepared with a flashlight to find your way in the pitch-black darkness. As you make your way through the Halloween Harvest Festival and Corn maze, you’ll soon find that it transforms into the Fright Fair Factory of Nightmares. Daylight offers a kid-friendly outing with farm animals, hay rides, bounce house, rock wall, giant slide, and pony rides. When the sun sets, the Adventure Corn Maze brings you an intensely spooky after-dark treat.

From Sunday to Thursday, enjoy the outing from 10am to 10pm. On Fridays and Saturdays, the event runs from 10am to 12am. This event takes place at Pierce College, located at 20800 Victory Blvd in Woodland Hills. For more details, check out http://www.halloweenharvestfestival.com/ or call 818-999-6300. Cost: $4 for the festival only, corn maze and haunted house ($12 each), and $20 for a combo pass. If you are interested in a VIP pass, add $5.

The House at Haunted Hill , October 27 to 31

Courtesy of Magic Lantern Creations, Inc, the San Fernando Valley will provide a scary event at 4400 Saltillo St in Woodland Hills , complete with high-tech effects that follows a fully scripted story and original score. With the help of Hollywood professionals, this get-together is so spectacular that the House at Haunted Hill received coverage on HGTV. Keep in mind that the house is situated in a dark neighborhood with no sidewalks. Parking is limited so carpooling is requested. The haunted house opens at 7pm and closes at different times. You should check the website (www.houseathauntedhill.com) for specific hours.

Curse of the Ghoul Mine (Heritage Haunt) , October 30 to 31

If you have enough nerve, why don’t you test out the ‘Ghoul Mines’ , a high-tech event that blends live action and animatronics for a night filled with thrills and chills. The spookiness of the haunt is intensified by the location of the mines, historically known for producing early cowboy movies. As you tour the haunted house, keep your eyes alert for any paranormal activity that takes place. For more information, call 661-998-3026 or check out http://www.scvhaunt.com/ . This event unfolds in Heritage Junction at William S. Hart Park (24101 San Fernando Road) and runs from 7pm to 11pm. Cost: Tickets are $10 for the general public and $8 for kids. All proceeds go to benefit the Santa Clarita Valley Historical Society and the local school district.
