An interesting bit of trivia from the Fatima Movement suggests a major catastrophe has been prophesied by the apparition that appeared to three children in 1917. The Fatima revelations have long been talked about in religious circles by those interested in the paranormal and religious prophecy in general, but one such prophecy that seems just around the corner is causing quite a bit of turmoil among believers in the apparition at Fatima.
Harold Camping may have made the most discussed prophetic event of 2011, but in the long history of prophecies, few are quite as interesting as Fatima which not only involved an apparition of the Virgin Mary, but also nearly a thousand witnesses who later convened and witnessed an incredible spectacle in the sky. With skeptics and believers alike assembling around the mysterious field, reporters stood with pens in hand ready to record the events. And then the unthinkable happened. The sun moved around in the sky in a scene that could not be explained by any present. And now, after the revelation of the final prophecy, the Fatima group (not affiliated with the Fatima movement of priests) is standing by what they say could be the biggest event of our century prophesied to happen this week.
According to the Fatima group there were three revelations made by the lady of Fatima. The first two were revealed and depicted scenes of hell and how to fight against these forces while the third was scheduled to be released in 1960. But the church declared it would not be released, instead insisting that the third secret of Fatima would never be revealed. After the press release announced by the Church regarding this third secret, intense speculation around it surfaced. Eventually a version of the third secret was released to the public, but many didn’t consider it authentic. The official account of the third secret announced by the church included prescient information about the death of the pope. But that wasn’t the official story according to those involved in the Fatima movement.
The Fatima movement is a sort of doomsday news group that has followed the events of Fatima and the possibility that the third secret was never released because it was largely against the church. The Fatima movement suggests the text of the final secret included the following disturbing prophecy:
“We then looked up at Our Lady who said to us you have seen the apostasy in the Church, this message can be opened by The Holy Father, but must be announced after Pius XII and before 1960.” Those following Fatima’s official story will note that this version of the third revelation is drastically different than the original, and has a disturbing conclusion which follows.
“During the pontificate of John Paul II the cornerstone from Peter’s tomb must be removed and transferred to Fatima. Because the Dogma of faith is not preserved in Rome, her authority will be removed and given to Portugal. The cathedral of Rome must be destroyed and a new one built in Fatima. If 69 weeks after this command is announced Rome continues it’s abomination, the city will be destroyed.”
According to the Fatima Movement, this letter was officially released on April 21st, 2010 meaning 69 weeks after the announcement of the letter would place the date of this disturbing prophecy at August 17, 2011. The site’s own doomsday clock will shortly be counting down to zero with mere hours left in it.
Is there anything to this prophecy? Or will it turn out just like Harold Camping’s Rapture in the end? Perhaps in the next couple of days we will finally know.
