It appears paranormal entities have invaded all regions of the world. When we first become interested in the paranormal, we have a tendency to spot the most widely reported entities; Mothman, Bigfoot, the Jersey Devil, and often we are told of the same accounts by documentaries over and over again. Often these reports remain unread, when they are in fact quite interesting and captivating. Such is the case of “the little man” from Sweden.
It all began on the 19th of August in 1970 when three witnesses were driving along a forest road south of Narken. The friends were heading out in the middle of the night despite it being a rainy night. When they rounded a bend they spotted in their headlights what appeared to be the silhouetted shape of a small dwarfish man hunched over something in the middle of the road. As the lights illuminated the man, they could see he was short, no taller than three feet tall, and hunched. He had what appeared to be a metal helmet on, and a grayish raincoat. As they approached him, they heard a loud bang or snapping sound and saw a flash of light. The car slowed as the flash suddenly lit up the street in front of them and the friends drove around where the creature had been standing. Later they would wonder if the diminutive man had fired upon them.
Seven months later, on February 16th of the following year, at 6 PM a man standing at his bus stop was waiting for the Straken 6:15 when he saw a strange three foot tall grey entity standing still a little less than a hundred feet away. As the man watched the entity standing, he realized he was unable to see the face, instead seeing only a grey mass without any sort of detail to it. The clothes appeared shoddily put together, dark, and there was a sort of box or lamp in the middle of the creature’s chest. As he approached, he suddenly heard a growl coming from the creature and jumped back, retreating to the bus stop where he continued to wait for the bus. Then suddenly, without warning the creature erupted into a bright white light so intense that the witness was forced to cover his eyes. As he opened them again a few seconds after the flash he realized the creature had disappeared.
Were these two sightings connected? It’s interesting that both incidents seemed to happen around a populated area with a mysterious creature staying near the roadways. One theory to arise from the sightings is that this creature required a hard surface to stand on for some sort of device to calibrate itself. In theory, an extra-dimensional “tuning” or teleportation device could lock onto the flat even surface around it (such as a rarely traveled road or sidewalk) and use that as a reference point or constant while the machine calculated its safe transmission through time, space, or other. Of course this is merely a science fiction bout of speculation and there’s absolutely nothing really grounding this in hard science. But it is interesting to note that in both circumstances the creature was waiting, apparently uninterested in its surroundings, standing still, and seemingly waiting for something to happen. The sudden flash and disappearance seem to coincide with one another in both circumstances. In the second instance the observer attempts to interact with the entity and it lets out a growl, a sort of universal sign of wishing to be left alone. It was clearly aware of its surroundings, yet interested only in leaving from what it looks like. But that begs several questions left unanswered. Why did it leave? Where was it going? And why was it here to begin with?
