The Rooster is found in the tenth zodiac location in Chinese astrology. When compared to Western astrology, it is seen as the equivalent of Virgo. In this article, you will learn more about the characteristics associated with the Rooster in Chinese astrology.

Roosters are observant people and have a tendency to be quite accurate and precise in how they view the world. Some people that are born under this type of sign are said to come with a keen ‘sixth sense.’ To be friends or related to a Rooster, you will find that there are no hidden levels of their character. They tend to be a ‘what you see is what you get’ type of individual. They tend not to come with any complications and are quite straightforward.

Other personality traits of people born under the Year of the Rooster include:

”¢    Roosters are social people that like to receive attention.

”¢    Their personality traits (such as being cautious and skeptical) make the career of being a detective, doctor, nurse or psychiatrist rather appealing.

”¢    While Roosters may get a bit dreamy in their plans for the future, they are still practical and resourceful.

Traditional associations of the Rooster zodiac sign include the western direction, the month of September, the autumn season, the element of metal, the gemstone citrine, and the color peach or apricot.

Are You a Rooster?

You are born under the Year of the Rooster if your birthday falls within these dates in relation to your birth year:

1909: 22 Jan 1909 – 09 Feb 19010 (Earth)
1921: 08 Feb 1921 – 27 Jan 1992 (Metal)
1933: 26 Jan 1933 – 13 Feb 1934 (Water)
1945: 13 Feb 1945 – 01 Feb 1946 (Wood)
1957: 31 Jan 1957 – 17 Feb 1958 (Fire)
1969: 17 Feb 1969 – 05 Feb 1970 (Earth)
1981: 05 Feb 1981 – 24 Jan 1982 (Metal)
1993: 23 Jan 1993 – 09 Feb 1994 (Water)
2005: 09 Feb 2005 – 28 Jan 2006 (Wood)
2017: 28 Jan 2017 – 15 Feb 2018 (Fire)

Compatibility with Roosters

When looking for a love connection, the Rooster can enjoy a prosperous future with a Snake. When the Pig is patient, they could enjoy a good relationship with a Rooster. However, a better match is found with an Ox , if the two are lucky enough to find one another. While the Dragon and Rooster make a balanced pair, they are not as passionate as they should be. The Monkey could become a good mate for the Rooster, but only time will tell.

Two Roosters will make the worst love match for this sign. A relationship with a Goat will prove rather unhappy , even if they pretend there are no issues between them. Sometimes, a Rooster can’t stay away from a Horse, but it’s not always recommended for a long lasting relationship. While the Rat brings passion to the table, the union with a Rooster will not last long. Tigers also don’t offer balance in a relationship. Rabbits are also not recommended for a Rooster.  Dogs and Roosters also don’t make a good pair.
