Sometimes it is a rare treat for family members to be able to work with one another. In the case of Alexander Siddig and Nana Visitor, the two cast members were married in real life, as well as endured an actual pregnancy while performing their roles as Dr. Julian Bashir and Colonel Kira Nerys. The two have since divorced, but it is interested anyways to see what these two have been up to after the cancellation of Deep Space Nine.

Alexander Siddig (Dr. Julian Bashir)
Before appearing as a regular character on Deep Space Nine, the role of Julian Bashir made an appearance in Star Trek: Next Generation in the episode, “Birthright” Part 1.” Before any Star Trek roles, Siddig appeared in a variety of television shows, as well as a mini-series. During his time with Deep Space Nine, he was able to direct a few episodes, including “Profit and Lace.”
Soon after the cancellation of Deep Space Nine, Siddig took on roles in movies like “Vertical Limit” and “Reign of Fire,” which was based on dragons and featured Christian Bale as his costar. What Siddig may be most recognized as is his role in two popular films that went to the big screen. In both roles, Siddiq played a character by the name of Nasir. In the 2005 movie, “Kingdom of Heaven,” Siddig played Nasir, where in the 2005 movie, “Syriana,” he took on the role of Prince Nasir Al-Subaai opposite George Clooney. Siddiq’s latest movie appearances include roles in the 2006 movie, “The Nativity Story” and the 2007 movie, “The Last Legion,” which is in its post-production phase.

2) An uncle on his mother’s side is actor, Malcolm McDowell.
3) Appeared with Kim Cattrall (from “Sex in the City”) in the theater production of “Whose Life Is It Anyway.”
Nana Visitor (Col. Kira Nerys)
Appearing in 167 episodes, Visitor began her acting career in 1976 with a slew of television series appearances, including “Ryan’s Hope,” “Twilight Zone,” “Remington Steele,” “MacGyver,” “ Night Court,” and “L.A. Law.”
After the cancellation of Deep Space Nine, Visitor appeared in TV shows, such as “Las Vegas” and “Frasier.” As for reoccurring roles, Visitor is known as Dr. Elizabeth Renfro/Madame X from “Dark Angel,” as well as Jean Ritter in “Wildfire.” Her latest project is the role of Principal Patty Andrews in the 2006 movie, “Mini’s First Time.”
