When reading reports made of Alien Craft and even the rare close encounter of the second kind reported to the Mutual UFO Network (MUFON), one has to examine each report respectfully, but take certain reported sightings with a grain of salt. Then why is it that one report seems so outlandish and bizarre and yet at the same time so interesting? Perhaps this report is entirely made up, but regardless of its veracity, it is a compelling story.
A man (we’ll call him Robert) working in an office building in Pennsylvania has described four sensational events which stretch the imagination, but also remind us that anything is possible when one takes into account that alternate dimensions may have no limit. He reports seeing an organic being unlike most aliens reported in abduction cases. The behavior, also, suggests something unfamiliar with this world and yet somehow innocent and almost childlike.
The first event happened on August 15, 2009 when a luminescent orb shot out in front of Robert while he was doing routine maintenance work on the roof of his work building. It stayed in front of him shimmering for a few minutes before shooting off six feet away from him, and de-materializing before his shocked eyes. He decided to leave the roof to recuperate, but when he returned an hour later a three foot tall creature stood where the orb had first been encountered. It stood on a tripod and did not appear to have any arms, but was staring at the transformer’s electrical conduits. As Robert approached, it spun around and stared at him with one enormous blue eye, which was described as beautiful. As Robert maneuvered around the creature it began to panic and stomp its feet, but finally calmed down when Robert held out his hands in a gesture of friendship. The creature then began to walk away, but out of nervous amazement Robert began to laugh, and the creature’s eye turned a different color, a gesture that Robert interpreted as offense. It quickly left, leaving Robert to go about his business.
Later, he reports a strange alien looking praying mantis creature which stared down at him while he performed his daily paperwork. It should be noted that Robert continued his daily activities somehow despite believing that this praying mantis-type creature larger than a human was staring at him. Whether this detracts from the credibility of this fantastic story is up to the reader. After this encounter, for two nights sounds emanated from the abandoned machine room that made the hairs on the back of Robert’s neck “stand up on end,” but he doesn’t go into any further detail on them. Soon after, however, the tripod creature reappeared and even left for him what appeared to be “gifts” in the form of springs and various gadgets from around the building that Robert used in his daily work.
The experiences reported came to a head, finally, when Robert spotted an enormous bird with a 40-foot wingspan soaring over the treetops in the distance. Fed up with all these paranormal experiences, Robert ignored it and had not seen anything else up until the point of writing his report.
Rather than thinking of this as four unlikely events, it is possible to imagine it as simply one. If the creatures described were entities of consciousness similar to some theories of ghosts, they could have leaked into our reality and into Robert’s mind. Alternately, the creatures could have been more tangible, but possess the ability to alter their appearance, or the drawback of having their personalities manifest in their physical forms based on the observer effect. The creatures described here bear resemblance to a being from an alternate reality HP Lovecraft would have written about, but even stranger are corroborating reports found in the Mutual UFO Archives that document a long history of glowing orb-like objects sometimes in the same town as the one described in these reports going back for several years, including several glowing orbs spotted (one even photographed) around the time Robert spotted his first. Of course without more evidence, these sensational stories remain nothing more, but it could be nothing more than an exercise in exploring the depths of possibility. We must keep an open mind if we are to discover the truth at the periphery of the unknown.
