Traveling throughout England, you may feel a bit parched and this may prompt a visit to one of the many pubs that decorate the cities and towns. While sitting for a spell at one of the historical sites about the land, you might even find a good ghost story or two. In this article, we will learn about some of the haunted pubs about England, such as the Black Lion in Northampton and the Carpenters Arms, situated in Cambridgeshire.

 

In Northampton, Northamptonshire, there is a pub that has been known to offer a history of poltergeist activity. Called the Black Lion, there are two different encounters you might be able to experience when paying a visit to this site. The first deals with some of the sounds you may encounter while visiting the pub. Witnesses report that a phantom has been known to step about this location. Others claim that beer barrels have been known to move on their own at this site.

 


Northamptonshire is a nice place to settle into if you’d like to explore some of the haunted sites about town. There are two others worthy of a look. The first is called the Ship and it can be found in
Oundle, which is thought frequented by the ghost of a former landlord. His tale is a sad one, as his restless soul roams the premises. The landlord took his own life when he committed suicide when he jumped from one of the windows of his bedroom.

The second site in Northamptonshire to put on your list is called the S
ipman’s Public House, which is tucked away in Northampton. It is here that stories of the poltergeists and other paranormal activity are known. The ghost that is mostly responsible for all of the odd events of the pub is known by the name of Harry Franklin. He was the former manager of the premises and committed suicide in a horrific fashion.

Ayot St Lawrence, Hertfordshire, England, the Brocket Arms can be found. At this particular pub, you may come face-to-face with a ghostly monk, who has been known to call this site his own. No one knows where the monk originated from, but we do know that the pub is quite old. Another piece of information connected to this site is that it was a rest point for pilgrims, who were traveling to Albans, so you see there is history attached to this location.

Brushmakers Arms, which is positioned in Upham, Hampshire, England

, you will find a pub that is haunted by a man that is known as “Mr. Chicklet.” The ghost is that of a man who once stayed at the pub about a couple of centuries ago. During his stay, he was robbed and then killed. It is believed that when you catch sight of his ghost, he is actually seeking out the whereabouts of his money.
