No one knows where the monk originated from, but we do know that the pub is quite old. Another piece of information connected to this site is that it was a rest point for pilgrims, who were traveling to Albans, so you see there is history attached to this location.

, you will find a pub that is haunted by a man that is known as “Mr. Chicklet.” The ghost is that of a man who once stayed at the pub about a couple of centuries ago. During his stay, he was robbed and then killed. It is believed that when you catch sight of his ghost, he is actually seeking out the whereabouts of his money.
